UTT has been for the 3rd time successful in the French government’s Investments for the Future programme. The project ACTION, submitted to the call of proposals for excellence research laboratories (Labex) has been selected in February 2012 by an international jury and will benefit of subsidies. In the Labex project, UTT teams with 2 labs from the PRES Bourgogne-Franche Comté, an university cluster in Eastern France.
ACTION focuses on material-embedded smart systems. UTT contributes the expertise of members of its nanotechnology, instrumentation and optics research team (LNIO). The research project will benefit from €8 million in subsidies.
ACTION is the 3rd project selected in the Investment for the Future Programme in which UTT takes an proactive part. UTT is also engaged in PIVERT, one of 2 “Institutes of Excellence in Decarbonized Energies”, and in a “Technology Research Institute” (IRT M2P - Materials Metallurgy Processes). (IRT M2P).
Investments for the Future has been launched by the French government in 2010, with the objective to stimulate an sustain research excellence in France. Its overall subsidy budget amounts to €22 billion.
