The Doctoral School embraces the post-graduate degrees and diplomas which are linked to the research activities of the Troyes University of Technology (UTT).
The programs are built on the basis of some fundamental principles :

Education preeminence. The students benefit from a high quality education in sciences, technology and humanities. This high-level education successfully prepares students for a professional career in the private sector or in a national or international public organization.

Strong connection with the laboratories and integration into the research units. The student is primarily a researcher belonging to a research group and working under its supervision. Therefore a large part of the programs proposed by the Doctoral School are related to the UTT research activities.

Employment integration. This is the main objective of the Doctoral School. While the programs provide a scientific and technological dimension, they also include topics linked to employment integration.

The Doctoral School and its programs

The Doctoral School offers programs at two levels :

The diploma in technological research (DRT) corresponds to an 18- month period of applied research in industry linked to one of the University's research laboratories.

PhD studies lead to the writing of a thesis. It involves high level scientific lectures of about 100 hours and extensive research work which usually takes three years to complete. The PhD degree offered at the UTT is within the scope of five specialties : Systems Optimization and Security (OSS) Networks, Knowledge, Organizations (RACOR) Mechanical Systems and Materials (SMM) Optics and Nanotechnologies (ONT) Sustainable Development (DD)
